Our Classroom
The classroom has different zones that encourage exploration and learning. The role play area creates familiar and new environments, encourages imaginative play and develops social skills. The tabled area is used for activities such as games and crafts as well as snack and lunch times when their are more opportunities for discussion and developing communication and language. circle time is part of the daily routine when stories, singing, rhymes and group conversations take place on the large rug. books and resources are easily accessible to the children and the sofa is a comfy shared place. bedtime books are on loan for parents and children to read together at home. depending on the weekly topic there may be a life size suit of armour (King John and his lost treasure) or Delilah the tortoise (vets and pets) a net of chrysalis waiting to be butterflies or tadpoles in a tank (life cycles).
Our Garden
Preschool provides waterproofs for wet and colder weather and sun hats and sun cream for warm weather as a lot of time is spent outside. The garden has a climbing from and slides, a tire obstacle course and a hard play area for bikes and ride ons. The mud kitchen is popular all year and the sand and water areas host boats, cars and dinosaurs. During the summer term children planted their own beans (Jack and the Beanstalk) and took them home. No tomatoes on the plants so far this year. At anytime their may be bubbles floating around and chalk on the pathway to play hopscotch.
